organizing vs. morganizing: What's the difference?
Organizing.
There's a trend of organizing that focuses on aesthetics. Matching bins, matching labels, decanting food from the package into the pretty jars. This type of organizing is very pleasing but not always financially (or environmentally) responsible.
Morganizing!
Focuses on function, not just fashion.
Morganizers make use of forgotten or under-utilized storage solutions clients already have, before purchasing any new items. Morganizing is for individuals who want their space (or life) to make sense, without unnecessary 'beautifying'. Nothing is more beautiful than peace of mind and clarity of space!
the morganizing process
Evaluate.
First we evaluate: What is the whole space used for? What works, what doesn't? What do you - the client- want from the space? What is functional and dysfunctional about the space and the stuff in it? Which organizational systems (storage, shelves, furniture etc.) work and which need to be changed?
Eliminate.
Next we eliminate: We look through everything! We sort out the items that should be kept, donated, used elsewhere in the home or are no longer useful and need to be discarded.
Appreciate!
Finally, we put it all back together! Everything in the space has its place! You can appreciate it in the moment and everyday afterwards because proper organization gives you peace of mind.
